Main Responsibilities:
Applications are being sought for an innovative software engineer. The role will include automation of test scripts and tools to support the business goals. Developing tool sets to create automated test plans and test run metrics appropriate to your platform. You shall interface across development teams in hardware and software to ensure an optimised approach to integration.
The embedded products that are tested include microcontrollers, fibre optic test interfaces, electrical test interfaces, and application software. There will also be a need to test ancillary applications (GUIs) for use on non-embedded OSS. This is truly an opportunity to play an influential role in a challenging development environment.
Experience, skills and qualification required:
- A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience and a Bachelor’s and or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or
- Relevant experience of telecom products either in optical networking, embedded products or communication protocols.
- Ability to work to aggressive time-scales in cross functional teams.
Technical Skills:
- Skills should include at least two of the following, embedded C development, Java, embedded/real time OS skills development particularly on QNX and familiarity with Eclipse IDE and Ant.
- Evidence of development of TCL test suites, beanshell, Perl or other scripting languages being an advantage.
- Experience of continuous test environments, developing toolsets to manage automated test case execution, test plan generation, results, metrics gathering and report generation. Experience in VMware and database management is required.
- Knowledge of the operation and specifications of telecommunications interfaces and protocols, such as 10GbE is a significant advantage. Experience in VMware and database management is required.
